About Us

The history of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Michigan began in October 2000 when an interested group of people
gathered for a picnic and organizational meeting. The group began having regular bi-monthly services in January 2001. Originally meeting
at the Wesley Foundation on the Central Michigan University campus, the group quickly outgrew the space and moved to its current location at Art Reach in Mt. Pleasant.

The fellowship’s success was greatly facilitated by Dr. Robert Franke who was ordained and installed on September 30, 2001. The congregation welcomed Rev. Nana’ Kratochvil as their new quarter-time minister. Rev. Kratochvil began her service to the fellowship in the summer of 2007. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Michigan (UUFCM) is affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) in Boston.

UUFCM meets every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Art Reach of Mid Michigan, 319 S. University, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.

UUFCM Covenant

Granting each other freedom of mind and spirit, we commit to this community of mutual care.  In that spirit of caring, we pledge to be
mindful when speaking of and to one another. We will walk in the ways of truth and loving-kindness that we and our children may always
be fulfilled. So that the world may be fulfilled, we dedicate ourselves to the work of justice and peace, seeking always to soothe sorrow
and to inspire joy.

Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism

We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:

  • the inherent worth and dignity of every person;
  • justice, equality, and compassion in human relations;
  • acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
  • a free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
  • the rights of conscience and the use of democratic process within our congregation and the society at large;
  • the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all; and
  • respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
