Be sure to put Sunday, February 23, 12:30-2:00 p.m. on your calendar for the second of our four congregational meetings about the transition process. We will be considering the question: “What does it mean to be a multigenerational congregation?” Lunch will be provided, and child care will be available; please contact Norma Bailey (baile1nj@cmich.edu, 989-560-3952) to confirm. A progress report of the first meeting is available here on our website.
Many thanks go out to the many hands that contributed to the wonderful Memories of Margaret memorial sharing on Sunday! While the official memorial service for our dear Margaret Nash is in May, we shared a lovely lunch and remembrance for Margaret with her daughters, grandchildren, and other beloved family, friends, and UU community.
Thanks to the set up muscle consisting of Ivory Griffin, his friend Tim, Margaret’s daughters Anne and Josie, and family friend Lisa. Additional fine touches were provided by Kris Los, Vicki Chessin, Gisela Moffit providing set up/clean up and baking. Flowers and cleanup by Liz and Jim Dealing, signage by Ashley Rae, remembrance hosting by Rev. Joe Cleveland, dish washing by friends of the family (Lisa, et al), soups by Chris Bauerle, Vicki Chessin, Gisela Moffit, and Laura McBride, bread donation by Grace Rollins, and desserts by Joyce Henricks, Capalene Howse & Bill Tinsley, Annette Pratt, Susan Powers, Mary Alsager, Vicki Chessin, Gisela Moffit, and Kris Los (our memorial bakers). Special thanks to Josie Csete for the donation of dish/silverware, and mints. If I inadvertently omitted anyone, please let me know! I value everyone’s contributions but distrust my memory! Josie and Anne appreciate all the hard work and memory sharing! Imbolc, also known as Candlemas and Groundhog's Day occurs at the beginning of February. It marks the middle of Winter and holds the promise of Spring. It is a festival of spiritual purification and dedication. We invite those of you who are interested in participating in this ritual to bring an item of food or drink to share at the potluck that follows the ceremony. We will gather at UUFCM at 6:30 pm and begin our ceremony promptly at 7:00 pm., Saturday, February 22nd.
