In class, the UU kids have been learning about equity: where all resources are distributed fairly so everyone can succeed. We have taken this opportunity to see equity in real time in stewardship to the land and nature. The children have been working hard making homes for our Michigan birds, food stations, and bird baths. We are working with nature by creating all the resources to thrive. Come check out our bird city! Do you have any suggestions for what to name our new oasis for our feathery friends?
Languages of Love
"Hello! Bonjour! ¡Hola! Come join us this week as the UU kids learn the languages of love: words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch. This will be a run-around high-energy activity." Upcoming Youth RE Activities February 4 - Mask Making February 11 - Valentines Day "Red Light/ Green Light" Our UU youth took time to learn about the "Recipes of Me." They wrote and decorated the "ingredients" that make up who they are as a person.
We also took some time to finish writing our letters of appreciation to our community! The kids chose to write to nursing homes, police officers, Karma Cat Cafe, and the animal shelter. This week our letters will be making their way out. Recipes of Love
Learn about the secrets of "Stone Soup" and how it helped a village in the far mountains. We will discuss how our faith reminds us that love is the thing that holds us together and pulls us back to the table, even when things get hard. Create the magical recipe of yourself. What unique ingredients make up the person you are? What are you made of? What do you L❤️VE about yourself? Join us in Liberating Love. Although the Martin Luther King Peace March was canceled because of the cold weather, the Youth RE Team craft activity went on! Several children and adults gathered to think about how they can change the world using an activity titled “How Can YOU Change the World?” Everyone enjoyed the time together with lots of conversation, hot chocolate and cookies!
