The main purpose of our interim transition period is to figure out who we are and who we want to become, so that we can move into the future with confidence. Our first congregational effort was our cottage meetings in which individuals shared why they came – and come – to the fellowship, and on December 15 the Transition Team delivered its report of those results.
Our next step is to develop our congregational voice – claiming and honoring our past, acknowledging our griefs and conflicts, and recognizing our unique identity, strengths, needs and challenges. At this first congregational workshop on January 26, Rev. Joe, our interim minister who has been with us since August, will share with us his sense of who we are, his understanding ofour narrative – our past, griefs, conflicts, identity, strengths and challenges. Then, all of us will have time to discuss: Do we think Rev. Joe is reading us right? Do we think the Transition Team, based on the cottage meetings, is reading us right?
Sounds like a great workshop, doesn’t it?!?! A chance to listen to Rev. Joe’s perspective and ours! A chance to talk with one other about who we think we are! We invite all of you to attend and share your thoughts as we continue this process toward our future!
Also, be sure to put the following dates on your calendars for the next three congregational workshops and lunches, each at 12:30-2:00 pm, with lunch and childcare provided:
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any member of the Transition Team.
