Summer Worship Series Begins July 1

6/25/2018

Our eight-week Summer Worship Series “Sharing the Stories of Living Our Faith” will run from Sunday, July 1
through Sunday, August 19. And as the theme suggests, we will be trying out a different format for this summer
that is more interactive and relaxed in design. The biggest change will be the absence of a traditional sermon
message – instead, either the worship facilitator for the morning or another designated person will share a
brief story/reflection on the theme followed by guided discussion. All we ask is that you attend this summer
with a willingness to go with the flow of trying something different! And yes…you will find the seating to be
rearranged as well to accommodate this new format of shared reflection. We hope you will join us!

June 24: Blessing the World

6/24/2018

Please plan to join us for worship this coming Sunday as we close our monthly them of “What Does It Mean to Be a People of Blessing?” to hear a sermon by Rev. J. Mark Worth, “Blessing the World,” given by Tom Moffit.

My grandfather would have said that we need to remember to bless the life around us and the life within us. He would have said that if we remember to bless life, we can repair the world.     ~ Rachel Naomi Remen

June 17: On the Blessing of Belonging

6/17/2018

Please plan to join us for worship this coming Sunday as we celebrate the welcoming of four new
members into our fellowship and hear a message from our minister titled “On the Blessing of Belonging.”

The truth is: Belonging starts with self-acceptance. Your level of belonging, in fact, can never be greater than
your level of self-acceptance, because believing that you’re enough is what gives you the courage to be
authentic, vulnerable and imperfect. ~ Brene Brown

June 10:  The Alchemy of the Human Heart

6/10/2018

This Sunday, we will continue our exploration of the question “What does it mean to be a people of blessing?” with a message from our minister titled “The Alchemy of the Human Heart,” a reflection on how we may find our bestow blessing in the midst of brokenness. We hope you will join us!

I’ve always been impressed by the “alchemy” of the human heart — by its capacity to transform
the suffering that comes to all of us into compassion and generosity of spirit. I know so many people
who have used their own wounds to become “wounded healers.” Instead of growing bitter and
passing their pain on to others, they’ve said, “This is where the pain stops and the love begins.”
They’ve become better able to offer understanding and compassion to others — not in spite of
their suffering, but because of it.     ~ Parker Palmer

June 3: The  Wider View

6/3/2018

This Sunday, June 3, we will begin our exploration of the question “What does it mean to be a people of blessing?” with a message from our minister titled “The Wider View” - we hope you will join us!

So what, then, does it mean to offer a blessing, to be a blessing? To bless something or someone
is to invoke its wholeness, to help remind the person or thing you are blessing of its essence,
its sacredness, its beauty, and to help remind yourself of that, too. Blessing does not fix anything.
It is not a cure… It does not instill health or well-being or strength. Instead, it reminds us that
those things are already there, within us.     ~ Elea Kemler

    Services are lead by
Rev. Andrew Frantz unless otherwise indicated.
