Environmental Issues Team
Our team’s primary objective is to come up with ideas about what the congregation can do as a whole to be more environmentally conscious. This will include examples of things we can do at the church and to the building and grounds to make us more environmentally attuned. We will also be planning special events throughout the year (e.g., installing a rain barrel, purchasing trees to plant, and hosting monthly educational seminars on various environmental groups and ways people can get involved).
These are just a few examples of things to come. Remember, going green is much more successful when we work as a team instead of alone. Go green! Look for our news items under Social Justice News. If you want to see only items related to environmental issues, click the Environmental Issues link under the Categories column on the right.
Because of the current coronavirus crisis and Michigan’s Shelter in Place procedures, we have been forced to put most of our ideas on hold. When things get back to normal, this page will have a schedule of events posted regularly and also information posted about environmental ideas, links, conferences, existing groups, etc.
Our environmental issues team is made up of Deb Allore, Sara Prussing, Matt Cavalieri, Erika Courlander, and Daniel Davis.
