Ways You Can Act:

Volunteer at Woodland Hospice
Woodland Hospice offers volunteer training and other opportunities to: honor veterans, offer camp experiences for children, public memorial services, and education about hospice care. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Woodland Hospice at woodlandhospice.com or call 989-773-6137.
Mid-Michigan Interfaith Coalition
The Mid-Michigan Interfaith Coalition (MMIC), an initiative begun by the collaborative effort of the UUFCM and St. John’s Episcopal Church, Mt. Pleasant, meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the UUFCM. This group was established in January 2011 as an inclusive interfaith coalition of both lay ministers and ordained clergy dedicated to relationship building and collaborative social justice work. For more information, please contact Dawn Daniels.

Local Emergency Assistance
Our minister has a discretionary emergency fund which is replenished by occasional plate collections; it is intended to provide emergency assistance, including food, shelter, clothing, medicine, gasoline, or other support to community members. Referrals to other community aid are obtained by calling Listening Ear at 989.772.2918.
Isabella County Infant Pantry
Donations for the local Infant Pantry are collected on the first Sunday of each month. Most needed items are items for baby care - diapers (especially sizes 5 and 6), creams, shampoos, and lotions. To donate money, the check should be made out to CCN (Community Compassionate Network) with memo “Infant Pantry.”
Standing on the Side of Love
Sponsored by the UUA, Standing on the Side of Love (SSL) is a public advocacy campaign that seeks to harness love’s power to stop oppression, and UUFCM is affiliated with the SSL campaign. Learn more about Standing on the Side of Love.
Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network
Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network (MUUSJN) is a state-wide network of Unitarian Universalists and our allies who work together for progressive change. Become a member and receive action alerts and e-News for ways to become involved in MUUSJN social justice actions. Learn more about MUUSJN.
