Everyone should be born into this world happy
and loving everything.
But in truth it rarely works that way.
For myself, I have spent my life clambering toward it.
Hallelujah, anyway I’m not where I started!
And have you too been trudging like that, sometimes
almost forgetting how wondrous the world is
and how miraculously kind some people can be?
~ Mary Oliver
We have a special treat this Sunday, July 31! Our message for the morning, “Work as Spiritual Practice” will be presented by Martin Melville, a Quaker seminarian at Earlham School of Religion. His colleague – our minister – will be the service leader. Please join us for the opportunity to hear this unique voice from our pulpit.
Martin is an “unprogrammed” Quaker (we’ll hear more about that on Sunday) who lives and works as a logger in State College, PA. He also kayaks, climbs trees professionally and is a serious whistler.

Please contact Lisa DanDan at 989.854.6035 for more information.
Books Available
Tracy Riley has brought in some books that belonged to Danielle - they will be available for your perusal in the social hall after service. If you decide to take a book or two...and if you’re able...please leave a donation of your choosing in the receptacle provided. Thank you.
Summer RE News Our RE youth have picked their first produce from the raised gardens – three cucumbers and four squash – which have been delivered to the Soup Kitchen. Lots of beans will be picked this week and delivered too! The children have weeded and watered each week to keep the gardens in good shape. Good job, RE youth! | |
There will be a scrap metal collection with proceeds going towards sending two people to leadership camp next summer. Look through your garage, basement, yard, and attic for items to donate to this drop off - old appliances, satellite dishes, wire, fencing, etc. A trailer will be available for hauling donations to the salvage yard. Dates aren't firm yet, but probably Saturday and Sunday collections. The final date for scrap metal delivery to the salvage company will be Saturday, August 20th. If you have questions or items, contact Laura McBride at 989.772.5512 or [email protected]. Any assistance is welcome!
