As connected as we are—to friends, to family, to each other—we often feel
we are ultimately on our own as we make our way through life, and that
can be a frightening prospect. We can overcome this fear only by
reaching out to one another, and in our shared courage, we will learn.
~ Phoebe Eng
Our worship theme for this coming Sunday, March 1 is “What Makes for Human Goodness.” We will explore the values and motivations of people who work for the common good. This service was planned and coordinated by Tom Moffit and will be facilitated by lay worship leaders Laura McBride, Gisela Moffit, and Tom Moffit.
What Does Our Fellowship Mean to You?
Right now is the time when we intentionally ponder our relationship to our faith community. During our stewardship drive we ask ourselves what our church means to us, how we plan to be more involved and why we want to support it generously. Read what Jennifer Prout, Jim Dealing and Capalene Howse shared with the congregation at recent Sunday services. May their stories inspire your joyful giving.
Infant Pantry Collection - This Sunday
Donations for the Infant Pantry are collected on the first Sunday of each month. Most needed items are diapers, creams, shampoos, lotions, and tissues. Baby food and formula are not needed at this time. Please contact Tom Moffit ([email protected] or 772-1602) with any questions. Thank you in advance for your generous donations.
Guest at Your Table Luncheon - This Sunday
Each year our Fellowship has participated in the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee's (UUSC) Guest at Your Table program. This year, instead of boxes available to send home to fill with coins each day the family has a meal, UUSC suggests that each congregation provide a Guest at Your Table luncheon at which people can make donations to support UUSC’s human rights projects throughout the world.
Therefore, you are all invited by the children of the Religious Education (RE) program of UUFCM to a Guest at Your Table luncheon this Sunday, March 1, in the Library Annex immediately following the service. The luncheon will consist of soup, bread, beverage and a delicious dessert, set up, served and cleaned up by the children of the RE program. There will also be a short program presented by the children. At the end of the program (at approximately 1:00), you will be provided the opportunity to make a donation to support UUSC’s human rights projects throughout the world.
UUFCM Men's Game Night - Monday, March 2
We meet on first Mondays at 7:00 p.m. for board games, such as Catan and Cards against Humanity. Unless otherwise noted, we'll be at Justin Henry's house at 901 S. Elizabth. Contact Justin for more information.
First Friday Potluck - March 6
The host for March 6 is Annette Pratt. The theme of the evening will be Irish/St. Patrick's Day. You may sign up here or by logging onto perfectpotluck.com with the host name: Pratt, and password: 0306. If you have questions, contact Annette (989-400-0173 or [email protected]).
Reporting Building Concerns
If you notice something that needs to be tended to related to our lovely building, there is a clipboard inside the kitchen area between the pass-through window and the door. It is called Building Concerns Log. Please share your observations on it. It is checked several times weekly. If we are out of an item in the kitchen area, please put that on the notepad in the same area. We appreciate your support in these tasks.
Request from the DRE
Calling all crafters! I would like to make a felt storyboard for the Elementary group. If you have felt or notions that you would be willing to donate, please contact Roze Bentley at (989) 400-7674 or [email protected]. Thanks!
Save Your Treasures...
The UUFCM Garage Sale is returning this summer! As you sort through your belongings, consider donating items to be included in the sale in May/June. Later this spring, more announcements will be shared about where to drop off items. This has been a great fundraising opportunity for our fellowship in the past. If you have questions about items to donate, contact Norma Bailey or Laura McBride.

Be of good cheer. Do not think of today's failures, but of the success
that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task,
but you will succeed if you persevere; and you will find a joy in
overcoming obstacles. Remember, no effort that we make to
attain something beautiful is ever lost.
~ Helen Keller
In case of inclement weather, a decision to cancel the service will be made by 9 a.m. An announcement will be posted here on our web site and on Facebook as well as sent directly via email. Those who are not online will be phoned. If you have questions, call Dawn Daniels (989-763-6315) or Laura McBride (989-772-5512). We hope we won't have to resort to this very often, but we live in Michigan after all, so we need to be prepared!
