The temple bell stops but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers.

I would like to thank everyone who already donated toward my efforts to raise funds for my travel expenses to Kathmandu. I am almost half way to my goal of $2000 for the flight to Nepal! CMU Public Broadcasting will be screening Thomas Morgan's documentary film about Pushpa Basnet, Waiting for Mamu, at the CMU Library auditorium this evening, Wednesday, June 10 at 7 pm, free of charge. I will be there to talk about my plans and give an update about what is going on in Kathmandu. I will not be allowed to fundraise at this event.
Remember, if you go through the Utopia Volunteer site to make a donation, please include that it is for the Mari Potter travel to Nepal Fund in the notes section. Also, going through the Utopia Volunteer site is the only way to make your contribution tax exempt. Thanks again.
In Worship
June 14: “The Flower Service”
The tradition of this service is for each person attending worship to bring with them a single flower (preferably your favorite kind of flower, if possible!) and upon arrival to place it in one of the vases provided at the front of the worship space. The ritual of the flowers will be explained during the service, but the gist of it is this: “the Flower Service is a symbol of our unity in diversity. It is a celebration of the earth's beauty. It is also a lesson in the fragility and beauty of life. And finally, it represents for us the strength and unity that comes from rootedness in community.”
- Please know that it is not required for you to bring a flower to participate in this service!
We will have extra flowers available if you happen to forget to bring one, but if you are willing and able – please bring a flower with you to this very special service. - We will also be honoring our 2015 high school graduates during this
multigenerational service.
UUFCM Men's Group - June 15

Summer Schedule Changes
- The Choir will practice but not perform this Sunday, June 14, and we may perform for the June 28 service. Over the summer we will hold rehearsals most Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.
- Movie Night will be on hiatus until August.
Parking Lot Update
Construction work began on the library parking lot on June 1st and the work has to be completed by July 14th - as part of the project a lot of shrubbery and 8 new trees are being planted. So until July 14th, we will need to utilize the ample available street parking as well as the parking lot that is just north of the library off University. Let us be mindful to leave the parking spaces directly across from our Wisconsin entrance open for our friends who have mobility issues. Thank you for your patience during this process!
We have only begun to imagine the fullness of life.
How could we tire of hope? – so much is in bud.
