To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow.
So do it.

The 2015 summer worship series seeks to further examine one aspect of our Mission: exploring ways in which we can “transform our lives”. The title of our service on Sunday, July 5 will be Anti-Racism, and our Worship Leader will be Norma Bailey.
Our reflections are drawn from the book Everyday Spiritual Practice edited by Scott Alexander which contains a collection of essays on daily spiritual practices, each written by a Unitarian Universalist clergy or layperson. Please join us.

Giving Garden
This summer the RE Youth are helping to grow a giving garden. All produce from our plot will be donated to benefit guests of the local Soup Kitchen. We have secured a plot with the Campus Grow project, which we will need help to keep weeded and watered now that we have done the initial planting. Please contact Roze Bentley (989-400-7674) with days and times you may be available.
Standing on the Side of Love: UUSC Call to Winston Salem/“Our Selma”
Peter Morales has sent out the call to all UUs to join him with NAACP Rev. Barber at a rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Monday, July 13, the day the Federal Supreme Court hears a case brought challenging the worst voter suppression legislation in the country. Vicki Chessin is going to this march and invites you to join her.
Vicki is happy to talk with anyone who has questions about the issues or the event. She has information about the mechanics of the trip, and will be getting a car and hotel room to share with as many people as space allows. Please contact her as soon as possible if interested or with questions.

From Mari Potter:
Hello Dear Friends! Once again, I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to all who have supported my efforts to travel to Kathmandu! I am leaving today! Utopia Volunteers has asked that if you still would like to donate to me, that you do so directly with cash or check. You still may donate to their General Fund which will help Pushpa's projects directly: utopiavolunteers.org. I have been in contact with Pushpa, and she has asked me to help with some teacher training: “Helping children feel special and using recycled materials.” She also suggested I help in the Butterfly Home gardens! What a privilege and honor to work with her, the children and the Butterfly Home Project! Thank you! <3
A Little Housekeeping
A gentle reminder to parents of children who play in the nursery during our coffee and conversation time following the service – please help your children put the toys away and pick up their food crumbs and plates. Our child care providers pick it up at the end of every service, but it has been left in quite a messy state after coffee time. We have a problem with ants in the building, so your assistance with managing food clean up in addition to toy pick up is very much appreciated! Thank you for your attention to this concern and helping your childrento be good stewards of our building, too!
To insist on a spiritual practice that served you in the past
is to carry the raft on your back after you have crossed the river.
