Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronizingly,
but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into
hope for the future.
~ Nelson Mandela
Please do join us for worship this Sunday, February 5, as our minister shares a message aimed at our troubled times titled “A Charter of Compassion” (apologies for the excess of alliteration…sometimes it’s the little things that lift the spirit!)
“We urgently need to make compassion a clear, luminous and dynamic force in our polarized world. Rooted in a principled determination to transcend selfishness, compassion can break down political, dogmatic, ideological and religious boundaries. Born of our deep interdependence, compassion is essential to human relationships and to a fulfilled humanity. It is the path to enlightenment, and indispensable to the creation of a just economy and a peaceful global community.” ~ Karen Armstrong

Friend in Need
Our former RE director…and current RE volunteer teacher, Roze Bentley, has been diagnosed with TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder that has her in constant pain…and her insurance offers no coverage for the treatment she needs. Roze has started a Go Fund Me campaign to raise the necessary funds – she is halfway to her goal! Please chip in if you’re able.

Thank You!
A big thank you to all of you who were able to attend our congregational retreat this past Saturday. A special thank-you goes to Jim and Liz Dealing and Gisela and Tom Moffit for hosting our guests in their homes and to Janis Shinn, Jen Prout, Dawn Daniels, Gisela Moffit and Annette Pratt for providing our delicious lunch.
