Everything that slows us down and forces patience,
everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help.
Gardening is an instrument of grace.
~ May Sarton
Join us in worship this Sunday, June 5 for an exploration of one of those difficult to grasp religious terms - grace. We may have a tie-in with last week’s message from Joyce Henriks on forgiveness…not sure yet, the message is still in process ;).
“On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to open and the world is full of beauty. On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to open and the love starts. Today is such a day. Grace breaks through. Grace fills the open sail, and brings transforming love. Grace is not so amazing. Grace is not so rare. Grace is everyday. Today is such a day.” ~ Rumi

RE for the Summer
This summer, the children who attend the RE program will be involved in planting, tending and then sharing the produce of their garden with the guests at the Soup Kitchen. Each Sunday after they leave the sanctuary, the children will have their opening ritual, a story, and then they will work on a related craft and/or work in the garden on the east side of the building. Please have your children dress appropriately for being outside each Sunday. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Norma Bailey (989-560-3952 or [email protected]) or see her at church.
Get Your Buckets Ready!
There will be a late spring clean up day scheduled at the fellowship very soon. There are mostly indoor projects planned. Contact Kris Los (989-429-0425 or [email protected]) for details.

Volunteers Needed for Summer RE
Volunteers are needed for our Religious Education program for our children for this summer. We need one adult for each Sunday this summer (June through August). Each Sunday you will be provided with the opening ritual, story or brief lesson, and then the children will work on a related craft or work in the garden we are planting on the east side of the building. No preparation is needed; everything will be written out and provided for you to simply arrive at 10:00 on Sunday morning to look over the plan. As well, you will have a teen helper. Norma Bailey is coordinating this effort, so please contact her (989-560-3952 or [email protected]) or see her at church on Sunday to sign up.
Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth;
without rain, there would be no life.
