He didn't tell me how to live;
He lived, and let me watch him do it.

Multigenerational Flower Service - June 15
This Sunday, June 15th, we will celebrate the Flower Communion, a wonderful celebration of the beauty in diversity. We ask that everyone bring a flower of their own choosing with them to the service this Sunday. We will also acknowledge Cycle of Life events (births, deaths, graduations, etc., as well as significant moves or changes in employment, etc.) in our congregation. Please let Rev. Joe know about names that should be mentioned in this part of our service.
Save the Date!
June 15: Fellowship Life Meeting, following service to discuss our new Mission Statement.
RE News
- **Please share this job search announcement!
Find it on our UUFCM Facebook page and share it with your Facebook friends!
The UUFCM is conducting a search for a quarter-time Director of Religious Education. The job description and application instructions are posted on our website (uufcm.org), with a link on the front page under Recent News. - Youthful Noise will be performing during the chalice lighting on Sunday, June 15. If possible, please arrive with your children at least 15 minutes prior to the service for a pre-performance practice.
- Youthful Noise will not have another performance until after the Water Gathering Ceremony in September. We will, however, be meeting regularly throughout the summer to learn fun songs, musical games, vocal technique, and basic music reading. Even if your children cannot attend regularly, please encourage them to join us!
- The RE end of year picnic will be Sunday, June 22 from 12-3:00. We're doing things a bit differently this year. The picnic is BYOL&S (Bring Your Own Lunch and Swimsuit)! We'll be walking with the kids to Island Park where we'll eat and play on the splash pad. Please make sure your children bring a lunch and appropriate attire, including footwear they can get wet but also play in. Contact Bill with questions.
On Saturday, June 14 from 10 - 1 p.m. you will have the opportunity to do just that. We will be cleaning our building (washing windows, foot boards, removing stains, etc.). Please bring pails and rags/sponges/squeegees if you have them and a step ladder (if you are short like me). We'll have all the cleaning supplies! For more information, contact Gisela ([email protected]). Don't miss your chance to beautify the building and have fun doing it!
Thanks for All Your Work...
The outside of the UU Center is looking noticeably better because of the hard work of Glen, Capalene, Kai, Phil, Chris B., Sandra W., Jim D., and Tom. We are not quite finished outside (is outside work ever finished?) and need to add some more plants and bushes, but a lot was done and we are all the better for it. Thanks to all the excellent workers!
Movie Night - Cancelled for June!
Movie Night is every second Saturday at 7 p.m. at the UU Center. The movie originally scheduled for June 14th will now be on Saturday, July 12th. “Twenty Feet from Stardom” won the 2014 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. It looks at the world of back-up vocalists and the legends they support. An audience favorite and something light for summer. Contact Jim Dealing with any questions - [email protected] or (989) 772-0269.
Sewing Circle - Cancelled for June!
Sewing Circle will not meet this coming Monday, June 16th. We will meet again on July 7th, but not on July 21st.
Litha Ritual - Saturday, June 21st
Covenant of UU Pagans (CUUPS) will have a Litha Ritual at the UU Center at 7:00 p.m. We gather at 6:30 p.m., hold ritual promptly at 7 p.m., and our potluck takes place between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass and/or a dessert to share.
Lost and Found
Are you missing sunglasses, your favorite lasagna pan, or your child's toy? Or anything else? If so, please check our Lost and Found Box in the Social Hall this Sunday. You might be surprised!
Still Getting Double Emails from UUFCM?
For the past few weeks, there have been some difficulties in which some people were not receiving emails sent from the [email protected] account.
Please, reply to this week's eNews with just the message 'Got It'. If you get two eNews emails, please reply to both - it will help Kirsten to have a clearer picture of who is has been affected. She will develop a list of those still not receiving from the UUFCM account, but no longer send duplicates to everyone. Thank you for your help and your patience!
Nothing I've ever done has given me more joys and rewards
than being a father to my children.
~ Bill Cosby
