Come march with us. Let’s get out there and let them know what we stand for. Exact time and starting location will be in future announcements. Contact person: Vicki Chessin

Great need continues for many people in our community for assistance in meeting the basic needs of life. Please bring non-perishable food items (canned goods) in addition to sundries such as baby items, paper products and personal care products for donation. Your offerings will be collected by the children at the opening of the worship service on Sunday. Thank you in advance for caring for our less fortunate neighbors!
Thanks to all who were so kind to remember to bring something for the Food Pantry on April 6. We had quite a load to deliver and it turned out to be 77 pounds of useful items for those in need. Thanks to all of you. We will be collecting again on May 4. They are looking forward to your contributions!
The UU's still have an account at the ICDC Thrift Shop where you can ask to have your saleable items put on consignment and we will get half of whatever they sell for. You just need to let the clerk know that the items are for the UU account - they will look up the number and mark your items accordingly. You will be doing us a favor (providing some extra cash for the Treasury) as well as supporting the pre-school that is partially run by the profits from the Thrift Shop. The shop is located at 307 S. Mission and is open from 10-4 every day except Sunday. It is a good place to shop. They appreciate getting clean, useable, and in style clothes along with small household items. For questions, call or see Tom Moffit (772-1602).
Your contributions to the Food Pantry last month were excellent and appreciated by those who benefited. We took over 50 items that weighed over 50 pounds. We get a letter which lets us know that our contributions are useful and greatly appreciated. They know that the UU's are doing something for the group of people in need.
We have another 1st Sunday on April 6 and I would like to take even more items to the center. Dry and canned foodstuff are always welcome but they especially need paper materials and personal hygiene products. They also need cash, so that they can get some things that are not always donated. We have a reputation to maintain that UU's are a giving group!! Questions? Call or see Tom Moffit (772-1602). |
