From the Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network Get rid of the filibuster if that’s what it takes! We are mobilizing with UUtheVote/Side With Love and the national Declaration for American Democracy Coalition’s Week of Action, “Freedom to Vote: Time to Act” – sign up now to join us! When: Saturday, November 13, 4:00 PM - 5pm ET Where: Zoom event, register here. We can’t sit back and watch our voting rights be stripped away from us by extremist legislators across the country. The Freedom to Vote Act would ensure access to the ballot box, protect free and fair elections, and end partisan gerrymandering. Voting rights legislation has already passed the House and received 50 votes in the Senate to begin the process of passing the bill – and the only thing standing in our way is getting those same 50 votes to reform the antiquated filibuster.
