Planned Parenthood held their national convention in Detroit over the last weekend in July – and our own Candi Tomlinson attended! As our newest member of the UUFCM Social Justice Coordinating Team and our current representative on MUUSJN’s Interfaith Reproductive Justice Coalition, we asked that she share a summary report of her experience and learnings from the convention. Conscience and Religious Freedom: A New Threat to Women’s Health and LGBTQ Civil Rights

The Michigan Interfaith Reproductive Justice Coalition is providing this program on Thursday, March 15, at 7:00 pm in Southfield, MI. The program will include speakers presenting the truth and the consequences of a new federal Civil Rights division, Conscience and Religious Freedom, as well as a legislative briefing on reproductive justice. Women’s Aid Service Fundraiser - October 20

Women’s Aid Service is holding its annual fundraiser, The Chocolate Fantasy, at 5:00 on Friday, October 20. For those not familiar with the agency, WAS provides shelter, counseling, and legal aid for victims, and their children, of domestic violence and sexual assault.
