Volunteers are needed to sign up for 2-hour periods on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8, to help distribute books to parents giving books to children. One volunteer per slot would be good. You don't have to know anything about kids' books to volunteer–the books will be arranged by age and most parents will know what their children would like.

Thanks in advance! Donations for the Infant Pantry are collected on the first Sunday of each month. Most needed items are things for baby care - diapers and pull-ups in sizes 4, 5 or 6, creams, shampoos, lotions, and baby food in jars. To donate money, make the check out to CCN (Community Compassionate Network) with memo “Infant Pantry.” Contact Tom Moffit (989-772-1602; moffi1tc@cmich.edu) with questions.
Once again the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is collecting new children's books for Christmas Outreach. There will be a box for donations located in the fellowship hall. Please bring new books; we especially need books for young adults, but any new children's books–board books, picture books, graphic novels and young adult books–are welcome. Distribution will be at Finch Fieldhouse on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8. If everyone could just contribute just one or two books, that would be great!I will also be asking at a later date for volunteers for 2-hour shifts, to help parents choose the books and hand them out, so if you think you will be able to do that, save the date(s). Please contact Beth Macleod with any questions. Thanks in advance!

Thanks to all of you who stayed after the worship service last Sunday and wrote 250 postcards encouraging people to get out to vote on November 6. Thanks, too, to the Social Justice Coordinating Team for organizing the event.
