Join the Anti-Racist Table 30-Day Challenge!

1/19/2022

The Anti-Racist Table 30 Day Challenge is a free contemplative, self-paced study designed to educate people and lay the foundation for active anti-racism. Engaging and interactive, the daily lessons infuse videos, readings, reflection, meditation, and other disciplines.

Norma Bailey says: “I have completed the first two lessons and have found them enlightening and valuable, learning more than I already knew and challenging me to reflect more deeply.”

Resources for Anti-Racism Work

6/17/2020

Several years ago, our congregation engaged in some work to learn more about racism in our country – books we read, videos we watched, and displaying a Black Lives Matter banner on our building. Today, especially after what has occurred in the last several weeks, we recognize that we now need to engage in anti-racism work. To that end, we have created opportunities for us to engage in this work.

The Social Justice Coordinating Team (SJCT) recommends the following resources for you to engage in your own anti-racism work:

  • A List of a Variety of Resources (print, video, podcasts, etc.)
  • A Reading list for Various Ages
  • How to Respond to Microaggressions
  • About the 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge
  • UUA Examining Whiteness: An Anti-Racist Curriculum
  • An Interview with Robin DiAngelo,
author of White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk about Racism

Service of Lament and Call to Action - Thursday, June 4

6/3/2020

This evening, instead of the planned Soulful Sundown service, we will have a special Service of Lament and Call to Action at 7:00:

All are welcome at this service of songs, reflections, and personal sharing as we grapple with the racial injustice so pervasive in our society, brought to light by the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. We will create a safe and brave space for witnessing truth, for grief and anger, for bold hope and action, and for comfort in the company of justice-loving people.
