We are partnering with St. John's Episcopal Church to help with the ICRH homeless shelter program. The dates are from Sunday, April 7 to Saturday, April 13. We will provide dinners for approximately 3 evenings (specific days are not yet determined) as well as help with overnight stays and morning clean ups as needed (again, we have not yet heard specifics about days). There is a sign-up sheet in the Fellowship Hall, or you can contact Joyce for more information (joyce.henricks@cmich.edu or 989-400-9743).
ICRH is always in need of volunteers – afternoons for the day shelter, 4:00-6:30 for intake, and evenings, overnights and mornings at the various churches. Go to ICRHouse.org to sign up to volunteer. The ICRH (Homeless Shelter) opens at the end of this month. The UUFCM is again partnering with St. John’s Episcopal Church, and we are scheduled to provide help for the weeks starting Sunday, November 4 and ending Saturday, November 17. We will need volunteers for providing dinners, overnight stays, and other services. There will be a sign-up sheet on Sunday and Joyce Henricks will gently nag you about volunteering.
The Isabella County Restoration House (ICRH), which provides the day shelter and the rotating shelter for our homeless community members, is in need of volunteers for both those efforts, including intake. The ICRH homeless shelter opens this Sunday, October 29. We are scheduled to partner with St. John’s Episcopal Church the two weeks from November 5-18. However the dates for which we have to provide
food are: Monday, November 6 Wednesday, November 8 Friday, November 10 Sunday, November 12 Wednesday, November 15 Friday, November 17 If you are willing, and able, to provide food on these days, please let me know. When I see who is willing to help out on what days, I’ll form committees so we can coordinate the dinners. What we want are: one or two main dishes, side dishes (e.g., veggies) that go with the main dishes, salads, desserts, and breads.
