Today, January 6, Americans across race, place, party, and background are holding candlelight vigils and voter actions to urge Congress and the President to pass federal legislation to protect our right to vote and our democracy. There are currently 9 vigils planned in Michigan: in Midland, Houghton, Cheboygan, Manistee, Traverse City, Battle Creek, Rochester Hills, Dearborn, and Detroit, in-person and virtual.
