By Guy Newland Like Unitarian Universalism, Shinto has no creed and no scripture. It does not seek converts. Although misappropriated by nationalists from 1868-1945, its heart lies in a felt sense that purity of heart discloses our intimacy with the sources of life in what we call “nature.”
Presented by Gisela Moffit Embracing Our Aging, by Catherine Senghas
“We are all on the journey of life, going at the same speed, toward the same final destination – although some of us are closer to that endpoint. What would you like your world to be like if you are lucky enough to grow old?” Guest Minister: Rev. Chris Rothbauer What does it mean to deeply listen to the cares and concerns of another? In this service, Rev. Chris Rothbauer will examine deep listening as a spiritual practice and how our diligence (or lack of) to it shows up in our lives and congregations.
By Laura McBride When a young adult son's search for his own life's path takes him out of his mother's comfort zone and off of her path for him, how does this mother handle the new route? Come and hear about how a covenant brings focus and comfort to a conflicted mother.
By Mel Bailey Our lives are spiritual journeys, and spirituality is fundamentally about connection. We may not always realize when we are embarking on a spiritual journey. More often than not our journeys begin with a twinge, a gnawing at the back of our minds or the edge of our hearts. We may feel a longing to set out in search of a connection we have yet to experience. We may feel called to come home when we need to strengthen our connection to that from which we came. As you contemplate your own spiritual journey, are you setting out or coming home?
