My heart is moved by all I cannot save. So much has been destroyed. I have to cast my lot unto those,
who, age after age, perversely, with no extraordinary power, reconstitute the world. ~ Adrienne Rich

This Sunday, please join us for a service titled “Honoring Hiroshima Peace Day,” lead by Norma Bailey.
My heart is moved by all I cannot save. So much has been destroyed. I have to cast my lot unto those, who, age after age, perversely, with no extraordinary power, reconstitute the world. ~ Adrienne Rich We have a special treat this Sunday! Our message for the morning, “Work as Spiritual Practice” will be presented by Martin Melville, a Quaker seminarian at Earlham School of Religion. His colleague – our minister – will be the service leader. Please join us for the opportunity to hear this unique voice from our pulpit.
Martin is an “unprogrammed” Quaker (we’ll hear more about that on Sunday) who lives and works as a logger in State College, PA. He also kayaks, climbs trees professionally and is a serious whistler. Join us in worship this Sunday for a service grounded in story, poetry and song…with a message titled “Stones on the Road: Reflections on the Journey So Far.” We hope to see you there!
“Cultivating Empathy” is the message our minister (fresh back from GA and vacation) will share with us this coming Sunday, July 17. Please plan to join us!
“Many of us know intellectually that we must do more than just advocate for justice. We also emotionally intuit that there is something deeper and we long for a new way of being. However, we have yet to make the collective effort to first know what the something is and learn how to practice it on a daily basis. I believe the something is the moral imagination. It is compassion in action. It is leading by being kind and empathetic. It is a vision of using conflicts as opportunities for intimacy and mutual understanding.” Join us this Sunday as Vicki Chessin leads us in worship with a sermon by Rev. Audette Fulbright, “Anger and Justice”, which explores serving justice from a position of privilege.
“It is justice, not charity that is wanting in the world.” ~ Mary Wellstonecraft |
