Our worship theme for the month of September examines the question: What does it mean to be a people of welcome? Our closing installment of this thematic focus this coming Sunday, September 24, will feature a message titled “Learning to Welcome Conversations about Race” - yes, my beloveds – we are going there again. There’s a banner hanging over our front door that invites others into conversation here…and I ask you - where is our conversation now? What have we learned and what are we doing? Where are we stuck? I encourage you to join us for worship this Sunday as we close our exploration of being a people of welcome and lean into what it means to be a people of courage. ~ DD

We hope you will join us! Our worship theme for the month of September examines the question: What does it mean to be a people of welcome? In worship this coming Sunday, we will “welcome each other home” as we mark the beginning of the new church year with our annual multigenerational Water Service. This service will also feature the “ceremony of commission” for our 2017-18 UUFCM Board of Trustees.
We invite you to bring a small container of water collected from a special place you may have visited during summer travels or perhaps from closer to home. Pouring it into a common vessel, we symbolically share our inner and outer journeys. We hope you will attend this very special service. And don’t worry if you can’t or forget to bring your own bit of water to share – we will have a communal pitcher you can pour from – all can take part. Please join us! Join us for worship and fellowship this coming Sunday, as we begin exploring the question of what it means to be a people of welcome with a message titled “The Welcome Table: On Creating Brave Space.”
