Join us this Solstice Sunday, December 21 at 10:30 a.m. for our annual “Festival of Lights” multigenerational worship service. This special service will be packed with light, life and laughter as we share and reflect together through stories and songs of the season. Childcare will be provided, if needed.
To be joyful in the universe is a brave and reckless act. The courage for joy springs not from the certainty of human experience, but the surprise. Our astonishment at being loved, our bold willingness to love in return – these wonders promise the possibility of joyfulness, no matter how often and how harshly love seems to be lost. Therefore, despite the world's sorrows, we give thanks for our loves, for our joys and for the continued courage to be happily surprised.”
~ Molly Fumia “Why We Wait” is our worship theme for this coming Sunday, December 7. What kind of waiting are we called to midst the cold, darkening days of December? Advent – the season of anticipation – is once again upon us. Through the lens of “Rumplestiltskin: the Advent Story” by Annie Foerster, we will examine anew the wisdom waiting within the ancient stories of the season.
On Sunday, November 30, lay leader Tom Moffit will share “All That's Past Is Prologue” by Victoria Safford, Minister of White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. In this sermon, Safford explores the question how we can make a legacy and what kind of action in the present we need to take that would have meaningful bearing on the future. Beth Macleod will offer special cello pieces to this worship service. We hope you will join us.
