At the heart of the UUFCM mission is the love-guided work towards a transformation of our lives and our world. Join us for a service themed on brokenness and forgiveness as it relates to our relationship with the natural world.
“When we affirm a vision of living in harmony with the earth and other beings, we enter an in-between place: we become increasingly aware of the brokenness of our world, but don’t yet have access, as individuals, to solutions that fit with our vision. Our entire social and economic system has been built upon the exploitation of the earth for resources, and the exploitation of human beings for profit. We find ourselves trapped in this system…There is no utopia in which we can leave behind our brokenness. The worship theme for this coming Sunday, September 6, will be “The Engaged Soul” – drawing inspiration from a poetic homily by the Rev. Alicia Forde, Dawn will reflect on the practice of paying attention – and the astonishing impact attention can have on the often wayward and damaging assumptions we make and live out in our lives and our relationships. The poetry of Mary Oliver will also make an appearance – we hope you will join us!

Notice where you need to pay attention But more than that: ask someone – “What have you seen or noticed today that astonished you?” And then, open your heart and listen.” ~ Alicia Forde This Sunday, September 13 is our annual multigenerational Water Service/Fall Ingathering celebration. We invite you to bring a small container of water collected from a special place you visited during summer travels or perhaps from closer to home. Pouring it into a common vessel, we symbolically share our inner and outer journeys. Our message for the morning will center on the human right to safe, affordable water. We hope you will attend this very special service.
