September 15: Blessing of Children and Teachers

This day is the official beginning of the Fellowship’s religious education program, and we honor the youngsters, their parents, and teachers. More broadly today we celebrate the precious gift, limitless promise, and awesome responsibility that every child represents; and we celebrate all those who love, support, teach, and mentor them.

September 8: Water Ceremony

The annual Water Ceremony has special meaning for Unitarian Universalists, as we symbolically mingle water into a common bowl. Some people bring actual water from a place important to them, or water that has significance for them; others pour water from a container in the sanctuary. All are invited to share in this ritual of gathering as a sacred community.

We are delighted to welcome our new minister Andrew (Drew) Frantz, MDiv., a recent graduate of the Meadville Lombard Theological School, who is relocating to Mt. Pleasant from Oberlin, Ohio. Please join us for worship with his message titled “The Spiritual Dimensions of Novelty.” The beginning of September brings new things: a new school year; the beginning of the church calendar; a new minister for this Fellowship. From a spiritual perspective, novelty (newness) can be both positive and negative. Let us embrace the new with openness and joy.
