Please plan to join us this coming Sunday for a special worship service that will include a dedication ceremony for our newly installed Tree of Remembrance, plus a sermon delivered by our minister titled “When God Had a Body,” a message by Gretchen Haley that invites us “to explore not just the story of Jesus as human – something we do with some degree of comfort as Unitarian Universalists, but less traditionally for us, also the story of Jesus as the embodiment of the Infinite Mystery that some call God […] What is it about this story of God as a person, and the divine as flesh – what is it about this that speaks to people – that keeps speaking to people – powerfully, resiliently?”
Dedication of UUFCM Tree of Remembrance
During our worship service on Sunday, December 9, we will formally dedicate our “Tree of Remembrance” that was installed in our welcome lobby this fall. This artwork was commissioned by the UUFCM Board of Trustees to stand as a memorial to our members and friends of the Fellowship who have died – the completed tree now has leaves attached that bear the names of those who have passed. We have invited their family members to join us in the celebration, and we will also live-stream the dedication for those who are unable to attend.
