Laura McBride is offering a combined Welcome to UU and Path to Membership class on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 9 a.m. in her home. This is a special combination event ideal for persons who have previously been members of a UU congregation, have been attending our fellowship for 6 months or more, and/or have difficulty participating in the regularly scheduled weekend classes. Completed and submitted! Your Transition Team has been working for a good number of weeks to write our application to the Unitarian Universalist Association for a contract minister for UUFCM for the upcoming year, 2019-2020. On Saturday, March 16, at 4:55 pm, we finished it and hit the “Submit” button to send it on its way. We now await to see which available ministers are interested in us!
We would like to introduce you to Rev. Chris Rothbauer who will present our worship service on Sunday, March 17. Chris identifies as agender, and the pronouns that Chris uses are e/em/eir. The following is Chris’s introduction for us.
Rev. Chris Rothbauer has served congregations in Michigan; Kentucky; and Alberta, Canada. E is on the steering committee of TRUUsT (Transgender Religious Professional UUs Together) and recently completed a Chaplain Residency at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. E lives in New Albany, Indiana with eir partner, Calvin, a rescue beagle, and a spoiled rotten cat. We were planning a baby shower for Matt and Elaine Emerick for Sunday, March 20 right after the service. But – Charles Kenneth Emerick decided to make his entry to our world early on March 1. We’ll postpone the celebration for a month or so to let the family get acquainted and develop a routine. We’ll keep you posted. They are registered at Amazon and at Target in case you want to give them a gift.
