Welcome to UU Orientation – THIS Sunday, August 25

This orientation is geared to newcomers, visitors, and those seeking to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and this UU fellowship. It is offered every month both in person in the fellowship hall and via Zoom, typically on the last Sunday at 12:00 pm. Sessions run approximately an hour and a half.

Path to Membership Workshop - November 19 at 1pm

This workshop is designed for those who want to understand the membership commitment to UUFCM. In this one and a half hour interactive session, we explore the deeper meanings and expectations of membership and shared ministry. We use an app called Remind to send out urgent notices such as service cancellations, special announcements, and fraud alerts. Please send Laura McBride your phone number and/or email address so you can receive these notices. You may add the Remind app to your smartphone, or once your info is added to the app, you will get an invitation from Remind explaining how to add the app to your phone. If you have questions, contact Laura McBride ([email protected]; 989.772.5512). She is adding names and info as they come in. If you received a notification, please respond to it!

Several members of our congregation took advantage of this year’s unique opportunity to attend General Assembly online. Those of us who participated will be talking about our experiences during upcoming Sunday services. In the meantime, we’ll be using the newsletter to share some of what we learned at GA.

This week we’re hearing from Gisela Moffit. Two ideas that caught her attention are:
The pandemic has shown us that radical social changes are possible, and we are all responsible for taking the long view—one that extends beyond our lifetime—when it comes to change.

She also shared this quotation, “We all take shifts for the revolution.”
