On Friday, July 19, Carol Rard, UUFCM president, and Drew Frantz, signed a ministerial contract for the 2019-2020 year, starting September 1 and ending June 30, 2020. Drew is sending an introduction letter and short video which will be mailed directly to your e-mail address, hopefully within the next week. As plans get firmed up, we will let you know about a welcoming event on September 1 and an opportunity for small-group gatherings to get to know Drew better.
The Transition Team which has been charged with finding a minister to serve UUFCM for the 2019-2020 year starting September 1, 2019, would like to give you an update report.
Utilizing the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) ministerial search system, we had two candidates who expressed an interest in serving as our minister. After reading one candidate’s materials, interviewing her and checking her references, we made an offer, but unfortunately, she now has taken a position in an urban setting. While we were going through this process, the other candidate also took a position. The Transition Team has since met and is exploring other resources. We have placed an ad in the UU World. We are also in the process of contacting the eight theological schools which serve UU ministerial candidates to ask them to alert their upcoming graduates to our search for a minister. As well, we are exploring advertising on CareerBuilder.com and/or LinkedIn.com. We will keep you apprised as we continue our work. If you would like to read the application materials that your Transition Team prepared and sent to start our application process for our new minister, two copies are available for you to look at near the name tags below the memorial tree. Please do not remove them from the church.
Completed and submitted! Your Transition Team has been working for a good number of weeks to write our application to the Unitarian Universalist Association for a contract minister for UUFCM for the upcoming year, 2019-2020. On Saturday, March 16, at 4:55 pm, we finished it and hit the “Submit” button to send it on its way. We now await to see which available ministers are interested in us!
On Saturday, January 26, we will have our annual all-congregation retreat. While always a valuable gathering, this retreat will be extremely important as we will be making decisions about our direction forward in light of Dawn’s departure on January 31. A hot breakfast will be served at 8:30, and the retreat will occur from 9-12. All members and friends are encouraged to attend.
