We will meet on Sunday, November 5, at 5:30 in the Fellowship Hall. A crockpot main dish and beverage will be provided. Please feel free to bring a dish to pass if you are able, but most importantly, just come!
Samhain (pronounced SAH-win) is a holiday known by another name - Halloween. The ancients believed this was the time of year when the veil between the living and passed was the thinnest. It is a time to remember those who have passed before us and listen to their stories which still live on inside us. It is also the Pagan “new year” with death and birth being two sides of the same coin.
We invite those of you who are interested in participating in this ritual to bring an item of food or drink to share at the potluck that follows the ceremony. We will gather at 6:30 p.m. and begin our ceremony promptly at 7:00 p.m. This orientation session is geared to newcomers, visitors, and those seeking to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and this UU fellowship. Welcome to UU will be offered every month on the fourth Sunday at 12:15 p.m. Sessions run approximately ninety minutes.
Please consider making a donation to CMU Public Media. UUFCM annually pools our donations to purchase air time on CMU Public Radio. We typically get ~$1500 and get 2 radio spots weekly for 8-9 months. You can write a check to CMU PUBLIC MEDIA and give it to Mary Alsager.
The agenda includes New Year’s Eve party input, Peace Pole, volunteers for Harvest Feast, January 20 date for congregational retreat, and the Social Justice Survey.
