At our annual meeting on Sunday, May 13, we thanked retiring trustees of the UU Board (Chris Bailey, Ricky Courlander, Joyce Henricks, Ethan Kolek, and Laura McBride) and elected six new trustees – Carol Rard as president-elect, Terrie Robbie as treasurer, Jen Prout as assistant treasurer, Janis Shinn for a 2-year term, Aaron Jones for a 1-year term, and Carolyn Hancock to fulfill the second year of Joyce Henrick’s 2-year term. We also approved the 2018-2019 budget and recognized the volunteer efforts of so many people who contribute the people-power to keep the church moving forward. Special recognition this year went to Aaron Jones for gracing us with his technological skill which enhances our worship services, Joyce Henricks who has led our Restoration House efforts for the past several years, and Glenn Lewandos who has led our safe church policy development committee regarding fire, tornados and outside assailants.
Please join us for the annual meeting of the UUFCM This Sunday, May 13, at 11:45 a.m. or immediately after the worship service. The agenda for the meeting will include the election of the new trustees for the Board, the vote on the proposed budget, and recognition of volunteers.
The potluck is salads and desserts of all kinds!!! Please bring your favorite hot or cold salads, or a dessert to share! Keep hot dishes wrapped in towels as we have limited outlets, and a small oven. Contact Laura McBride (989.772.5512; lmcbride010@gmail.com) if you would like to bring iced tea or lemonade. We will eat immediately following the meeting. Please consider gluten free, vegetarian and vegans, if possible! It will be a celebration!!!
The presence of all members of the congregation is requested by the Board of Trustees at the Annual Meeting of the Congregation, which will be held on Sunday May 15, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. – following our Flower Communion Service.
According to our bylaws, certain positions must be filled at the annual meeting. The congregation must also approve the budget for the upcoming church year, which begins on July 1st. A majority of members must be present for business to be conducted, so please plan to attend! If you cannot attend, please appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, in writing or via email (which they will need to print and bring to the meeting). Annual Meeting is also a time when we honor the service of our many volunteers. The Annual Meeting is a special event in the life of a congregation, so to celebrate, we plan to break bread together with a community luncheon immediately following the meeting. Sign-up sheets will be made available this Sunday, May 8.. Per our bylaws, you are officially being notified of the annual meeting of the UUFCM on Sunday, May 18, at 11:45 a.m. or immediately after the worship service. Attached is the agenda for the meeting, which includes the election of the new trustees for the Board. Also attached are the proposed budget and proposed by-law changes. There will be a vote on accepting the mission statement (following a collection of input at a focus meeting and review of it by the Transition Task Force). The mission statement will be distributed for review following the board meeting on May 10, 2015.
Looking forward to seeing you all there! Your UUFCM Board of Trustees |
