A facilitated discussion of "Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End," by Atul Gawunde will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm after Sunday services from January 21 to February 11. The book provides important perspectives on a subject most of us would prefer not to deal with, including a series of cautionary case studies and some useful practical alternatives. Oliver Sacks described it as "not only wise and deeply moving, it is an essential and insightful book for our times." It also offers help to younger people concerned about their parents.
